Ties of Kinship

Abu Huraira RA reported the prophet ﷺ as saying:

“Don’t nurse grudge and don’t bid him out for raising the price and don’t nurse aversion or enmity and don’t enter into a transaction when the others have entered into that transaction and be as fellow-brothers and servants of Allah. A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim. He neither oppresses him nor humiliates him nor looks down upon him. The piety is here, (and while saying so) he pointed towards his chest thrice. It is a serious evil for a Muslim that he should look down upon his brother Muslim. All things of a Muslim are inviolable for his brother in faith: his blood, his wealth and his honour.”

Sahih Muslim (2564)

Giving Salam : Spreading Peace and Unity

Salam, or peace, is a universal concept that transcends cultural and linguistic boundaries. It’s not just a mere greeting, but a profound expression of goodwill, harmony, and respect. Whether you’re in the bustling streets of a metropolis or a serene village, the act of giving salam has the power to create a positive ripple effect in our lives and the lives of those around us.

Spreading Positivity:

Have you ever noticed how a sincere salam brightens up someone’s day? Your greeting can have a domino effect – the person you greeted with salam might pass it on to the next person they meet, creating a chain reaction of positivity. This contagious goodwill has the potential to create a more harmonious and joyful atmosphere in our communities.

Breaking Barriers:

Salam breaks down barriers not only between individuals but also between different societal groups. It’s a gesture that transcends religion, ethnicity, and nationality. By sharing salam with people from diverse backgrounds, we’re actively participating in building a more inclusive world. This simple practice contributes to breaking down stereotypes and dispelling prejudices.

Hadith:

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “By Him in Whose Hand is my life! You will not enter Jannah until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another. Shall I inform you of something which, if you do, you will love one another? Promote greetings (Salam) amongst yourselves.” [Muslim].

In Conclusion:

The practice of giving salam holds immense value in our lives. It’s a powerful tool for promoting understanding, unity, and empathy. By embracing this tradition, we can contribute to a world where peace is not just a distant ideal, but a tangible reality we experience daily. So, whether you’re in a crowded market or at a family gathering, remember the magic of salam , a small word that holds the potential to make a big difference.

Doa Ruqyah Diri Sendiri

Rasulullah ﷺ pernah mengajar sahabat cara meruqyah diri sendiri.

Daripada Uthman bin Abi al-‘As RA meriwayatkan bahawa beliau pernah mengadu kepada Rasulullah ﷺ tentang kesakitan yang beliau rasa pada tubuh badan sejak beliau memeluk agama Islam. Maka Rasulullah ﷺ pun bersabda:

Choosing a Good Friend

Narrated Abu Musa RA, The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The example of a good pious companion and an evil one is that of a person carrying musk and another blowing a pair of bellows. The one who is carrying musk will either give you some perfume as a present, or you will buy some from him, or you will get a good smell from him, but the one who is blowing a pair of bellows will either burn your clothes or you will get a bad smell from him.”

Sahih al-Bukhari (5534)

Doa Berlindung Daripada Hilangnya Nikmat Dan Kesihatan

Daripada Ibnu ‘Umar R.Anhuma, ia berkata, Di antara doa Rasulullah ﷺ :

Maksudnya: ” Ya Allah! Tambahkanlah buat kami dan jangan Engkau kurangkan. Muliakanlah kami, jangan hinakan kami. Berilah buat kami, jangan dicegahnya. Pilihlah kami, jangan Engkau biarkan dan redhailah kami dan redhailah pula semua usaha kami.”

Riwayat Al-Tirmizi (3173)

Teaching kids about the lives or Seerah of the prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his companions

Narrated `Abdullah RA, The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The best people are those of my generation, and then those who will come after them (the next generation), and then those who will come after them (i.e. the next generation), and then after them, there will come people whose witness will precede their oaths, and whose oaths will precede their witness.”

Sahih al-Bukhari (6429)

  • Why should we learn about the lives or Seerah of the prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his Companions?

1) It will help us connect to them and increase our love for them.
2) The companions of the Prophet were blessed to observe the practice of the Prophet directly, so they were able to embody and practice the faith to perfection.
3) Their lives were also lessons for us and a source of guidance.

  • Teach them early, before there’s no more room in their heart.

Doa Memohon Syafaat Rasullulah ﷺ

Jabir bin ‘Abdillah RA telah mendengar Rasulullah ﷺ bersabda:

Sneezing Etiquette

What to say whe..n..haa…Rhaaa… RHAATCHUUUMMMMM !!

This is encouraged in a hadith from Abu Hurairah RA, where the Prophet ﷺ said:

“If anyone of you sneezes, he should say ‘Al-Hamduli l-lah’ (Praise be to Allah), and his (Muslim) brother or companion should say to him, ‘Yar-hamuka-l-lah’ (May Allah bestow his Mercy on you). When the latter says ‘Yar-hamuka-llah”, the former should say, ‘Yahdikumul-lah wa Yuslih balakum’ (May Allah give you guidance and improve your condition).

Sahih al-Bukhari (6224)

  • The person who sneezes should recite tahmid which is by reciting Alhamdulillah or Alhamdulillahi ala kulli hal.
  • The person who hears another person sneezing and reciting tahmid should answer with Yar-hamuka-llah.
  • Afterwards, the person who sneezes should respond with Yahdikumullah wa yuslih baalkum.
