Salah Pilih Kawan

Firman Allah SWT:

“Wahai celakanya aku, alangkah baiknya kalau aku tidak mengambil si dia itu menjadi sahabat karib!”

Surah al-Furqan: Ayat 28

Slave of Money

Narrated Abu Hurairah RA, The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Let the slave of Dinar and Dirham of Quantify and Khamisa (i.e. money and luxurious clothes) perish for he is pleased if these things are given to him, and if not, he is displeased!”

Sahih al-Bukhari (2886)

  • Muslims are prohibited from enslaving themselves to worldly possessions because they provide no benefit in the Hereafter.
  • Worldly possessions granted by Allah SWT to someone serve as a test to measure their faith in Allah SWT.
  • Therefore, they should be used for matters commanded by Allah SWT.
  • Muslims are prohibited from being overly joyful when receiving a blessing and from being sorrowful when struck by a calamity.
  • The reproachable wealth is that which exceeds one’s needs, distracts from remembering Allah SWT, and is not used in obedience to Allah SWT.

A Charity from You to Yourself

From Abu Dzar RA, he said, “O Messenger of Allah, what do you think if I am weak (unable) to perform some deeds?” The Prophet SAW said:

“Refrain from harming people, for this is a charity from you to yourself.”

Sahih Muslim (84)

Seven (people) will be shaded by Allah by His Shade on the Day of Resurrection

Narrated Abu Hurairah RA, The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Seven (people) will be shaded by Allah by His Shade on the Day of Resurrection when there will be no shade except His Shade. (They will be), a just ruler, a young man who has been brought up in the worship of Allah, a man who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes are then flooded with tears, a man whose heart is attached to mosques (offers his compulsory congregational prayers in the mosque), two men who love each other for Allah’s Sake, a man who is called by a charming lady of noble birth to commit illegal sexual intercourse with her, and he says, ‘I am afraid of Allah,’ and (finally), a man who gives in charity so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has given.”

Sahih al-Bukhari (6806)

Doa Agar Mudah Membayar Hutang

Maksudnya: “Ya Allah!

Heedless With The World

Allah says in Quran:

Meaning: “And the life of this world is nothing but play and amusement. But surely the home of the Hereafter is better for those who are righteous. Then will you not reason?”

Surah Al-An’am, Ayah: 32

  • Signs that we are heedless:
  1. Less frequent reading of the Quran.
  2. Lack of remembrance (dhikr) of Allah.
  3. Negligence in prayers, less mindfulness of Allah.
  4. Less or lazy in making supplications (du’a).
  5. Delaying repentance.
  • Ways to overcome heedlessness:
  1. Find good and righteous friends.
  2. Attend gatherings of knowledge.
  3. Wake up at night for Tahajjud prayer.
  4. Increase in remembrance (dhikr) and repentance.
  5. Be diligent in reading the Quran.
  6. Remember death.
  7. Practice the Sunnah of the Prophet SAW.

Perform Your Prayer (Salah) Even If You Are Not a Good Person

Allah says in Quran:

“Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance.”

Surah TaHa: Verse 14

  • Prayer is a means of connecting humans with their Lord. Prayer is like a pillar that strengthens a structure. Without the pillar, the structure will collapse.
  • Please take care of our prayers. No matter how bad or wicked our condition might be, never abandon prayer.
  • InsyaAllah, guidance is in the hands of Allah. Nothing is impossible, and in the future, we may change to become better individuals and good servants of Allah in His sight.

Du’a for Every Morning

From Ummu Salamah, she said: that the Prophet ﷺ, when he finished the Fajr (dawn) prayer and gave the salutation (at the end of the prayer), he would recite:

Meaning: “O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and accepted deeds.”

Narrated by Ibn Majah (925)

Sincerely Doing Good Deeds

Abu Hurairah RA reported Allah’s Messenger ﷺ as saying:

Verily Allah does not look to your faces and your wealth but He looks to your heart and to your deeds.

Sahih Muslim (2564)

Du’a for Protection from the Evils of Deeds

“O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from the evil of what I have done and from the evil of what I have not done.”

Sahih Muslim (2716)

  • This du’a is asking for protection from the negative consequences of both actions taken and actions not taken, recognizing human fallibility and seeking divine assistance in all matters.
