In a hadith narrated by Abdullah b. Mas’ud, the prophet ﷺ said:
لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مَنْ كَانَ فِي قَلْبِهِ مِثْقَالُ ذَرَّةٍ مِنْ كِبْرٍ
None shall enter Paradise who has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of pride.
Sahih Muslim (91)
- One of the worst dangers of pride is the rejection of truth! And whoever denies the truth inevitably plunges into falsehood.
- WARNING: No one is immune! It is a sickness that one must search for within oneself every day, in one’s behavior and in one’s heart. To believe that one is immune to pride is already, in itself, a sign of pride!
- May Allah protect us from this evil.
