Narrated Abu Huraira RA, The Prophet ﷺ said:
إِنْ شَرَّ النَّاسِ ذُو الْوَجْهَيْنِ، الَّذِي يَأْتِي هَؤُلاَءِ بِوَجْهٍ وَهَؤُلاَءِ بِوَجْهٍ
“The worst of all mankind is the double-faced one, who comes to some people with one face and to others, with another face.”
Sahih al-Bukhari (7179)
- Being two-faced essentially involves many sins, such as lying, backbiting, taletelling, slandering, and deceiving.
- The perpetrator of this act is disliked by Allah Almighty and people.
- This causes mischief to prevail in society and people become averse to one another.
- May Allah Almighty grant us sincerity and protect us from hypocrisy.
