Allah says in Quran:
ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَآ أَصَـٰبَتْهُم مُّصِيبَةٌۭ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّآ إِلَيْهِ رَٰجِعُونَ
(That is) those who, when they are afflicted by something difficult, they say: “Indeed we belong to Allah and to Allah we shall return.”
Surah Al-Baqarah: Ayah 156
- How can you feel losing something in a world where nothing is truly yours?
- Allah reminds us that everything in this world ultimately belongs to Him, and He alone has control over all things. This helps foster acceptance in moments of loss.
- Islam teaches that while loss is a natural and emotional experience, it is also an opportunity to practice patience, gratitude, and reliance on Allah. Understanding that nothing is truly “ours” fosters humility and prepares us to focus on our ultimate return to Allah, where true and everlasting rewards await.
