Abu Hurairah RA narrated that the prophet ﷺ said:
مَا نَقَصَتْ صَدَقَةٌ مِنْ مَالٍ, وَمَا زَادَ اَللَّهُ عَبْدًا بِعَفْوٍ إِلَّا عِزًّا, وَمَا تَوَاضَعَ أَحَدٌ لِلَّهِ إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ
“Sadaqah does not decrease property and Allah increases the honor of him who forgives and no one will humble himself for Allah’s sake except that Allah raises his status.”

- Forgive others, not because they deserve forgiveness, but because you deserve peace.
- Forgive people so that perhaps Allah may forgive you.
